Baptism

This is my first entry (as you can prob. tell)

"7am the garbage truck beeps as it backs up, and I start my day thinking about what I have thrown away, should I press rewind?"

This of course is an excerpt from an Incubus song... and after listening to the opening lyrics it got me to thinking...Over the course of my life I have thrown away a lot of opportunities. I would consider myself to be a very lucky person who has been given every advantage; the fact that I have passed up soo much in my short life is quite tragic and demands some attention...Listening to these lyrics caused me to contemplate what these words meant as they applied to my life. I am convinced that music harnesses an indescribable power that can yield mixed connotations based on individual interpretations! This is one of the main reasons why I like music so much! It has the power to alter moods, stimulate reflection, or even inspire us! Lately, I have been working a whole bunch and it has crippled my creativity and ability to stay motivated. School is closing upon me and I fear that if I don't get my act togeather I will not be prepared for it! Due to this fact it is imperative that I take advantage of every opportunity that crosses me! The time has come for me to incubate every chance I have to grow both mentally and artistically! I have been blessed with a three day weekend, and I will fight to ration my time wisely...between my research, forging, and winding down...Thus far my summer has passed at the blink of an eager eye, and soon it will come to a close, I want to know that I made the best of my time! Speaking of time, hours have escaped me and it is past 1:30 in the am. I must rest of the new task ahead of me, and welcome the morning with ready hands! Goodnight all, sleep undisturbed!
